Curlers love bolster and donut beds, while sprawlers prefer flat mattress-style beds.

DOG BED FAQ

Dog Bed Questions, Answered

It depends on your dog. Orthopedic beds suit seniors and large breeds, bolster and donut beds suit dogs who curl up, and cooling beds help dogs that overheat.

Measure your dog from nose to tail while lying stretched out, then add four to six inches so they have room to spread out comfortably.

For senior dogs, heavy breeds, and dogs with joint issues, orthopedic foam gives real support that standard filling cannot, so they are usually worth it.

Choose a bed with a removable, machine-washable cover and wash it regularly. A waterproof liner and frequent vacuuming also help control hair and odour.

Replace a bed when the padding is flattened, the cover is worn, or it no longer supports your dog. Quality beds last a year or more with care.
